Some say the name was created as a backformation from "Nazarene", under the mistaken belief that a Nazarene was someone from a place called Nazareth, and that there was no town there until it was created for the benefit of Helena, mother of Constantine the Great, who went looking for the place. |

Almost certainly, Jesus (or Yeshua, or whatever you want to call him) did not.How can you be so sure? Many, if not most, scholars who have an opinion think that he did exist. Just because some people wrote hard-to-believe things about some guy turning water into wine and feeding 5,000 with a bunch of loaves and fishes, doesn't mean that the person they wrote about didn't exist. They could have embellished stories about a real person. |

Olog believes that Jesus of Nazareth is his Lord and God. Therefore "BC" is appropriate for him to use. |

The underlying idea that the world would be better without Christianity (whether or not you believe in its premises) does not resonate with me. You can blame Christianity for many wars, battles, and bloodshed, but I highly doubt that without it everybody would have just "gotten along" (even relatively) these past two millennia, and I'm of the opinion that it would have been worse. Who can even say with relative certainty that most Enlightenment ideas would have surfaced yet, or have become so widespread as they are? |

His name is "of Nazareth", and yet he wants to look for Palestine. When I say Chicago, I mean Chicago, I don't start changing the name if I'm going to Chicago.Secondly, clearly by the Nazareth and Palestine, he thinks Jesus is black or arab. Talk about your white privledge that you get a time machine, and your #1 goal is to kill a person of color. Maybe BLM is right in some aspects. |
