LinkFlew into MIA, made a couple of stops in Dade, then flew from MIA to FLL. I think AF1 may have flown over my head (I'm under one of the approaches to FLL when they are on easterly flow (they had been on westerly all day until apparently shortly before that time)). Was about 3:45-3:50, I hear this plane fly overhead, sounded kinda low. I have the FlightRadar24 app on my phone, so I look--nothing there. (Obviously, AF1 does not show up on any aircraft tracking sites) I also see no activity around FLL or MIA, so that's when I figured it out. An earlier version of the link I posted said he would be leaving MIA around 3:15 and arriving at FLL at 3:45. Looks like he was a few minutes late. At first I was mad that I didn't get a pic of the VC-25A as it flew overhead, then I remembered that I already had one. :)  That was taken in February 2015. Obama was coming down for some reason, don't recall why, so AF1 landed at MIA. I took that from the loading dock at my job, which has a fairly good view of aircraft on final to Runway 9 at MIA, which is the southernmost runway, and also the longest, so it is generally designated for heavies. I lucked out on that one, as I said, AF1 doesn't show up on tracking sites, I had gone out because an Avianca A-318 was scheduled to arrive at that time. I didn't see the A-318, but I'm happy with what I got :). I did subsequently get the AV Baby Bus (sorry for quality, had to use digital zoom, that was with my old camera (9x Optical, 4x Digital). My current camera has 25X optical and 4x digital, so I can get far away objects better now.  /end thread hijack :) |
