Posted by TUNNELRAT on Sat Jun 6 17:10:26 2020 yesterday in valley stream l.i.across the street from the gibson station of the lirr 2 stores had their front doors smashed in in the early morning hours.nothing was taken.1 was a chinese take-out joint and the other was a nail saloon.i,m thinking an act of revenge of some sort. this happened in the early hours of the morning. |

That house needed a lot or work.No need for the Hewlett school system anymore, and we wanted a 2 family house for my grandmother, walkable to the LIRR, and a bus line, so we all moved to Malverne. She had been in Cedarhurst, Lawrence, and Inwood since 1912. |

Our neighborhood sit down restaurant was Casa Tina, just outside from the pedestrian RR overpass. That entire chain of stores is now an apartment building.The A&P that was there until the early 1970's was managed by my mother's uncle. She would never walk by there since she did not want to be seen never shopping there. It was a dump. |
