Well, so what! Rats ass, anybody?

Posted by Avid Reader on Wed Jun 3 15:42:45 2020

So, on March 18th I ran a 102.2 fever and had back pains. I felt like crap.
I had my son take me to one of those stations set up for the nasal swab test. There was a back up of cars waiting in the parking lot.

So, we went to a walk in Med facility, CityMD. They took me right a way.
They did a nasal swab, temp, chest X-ray, blood and urine and, said, get thee to the hospital.

Off we went to Good Sam, in Bay Shore. After a series of test, like the above, I was admitted with pneumonia.
While there I was on intravinse antibiotics and a lot of pills.

I was told I DID NOT have Covid-19 and released on March 22nd, when new X-rays showed the pneumonia had been cleared.

So I'm wearing the mask, staying in the house and shunning the whole world.
Now I have to hope we gat a vaccine by next year, damn that sucks.

As good fortune would have it, very recently, my son got a dose of poison Sumac and went to CityMd. While there He also got the "Antibodies" test for Covid-19, he tested Negative and told me about the test.
So I went, and BINGO, I tested .6 positive.
Those 2 nasal test both were false negatives.
I now feel a lot better and safer!

So, who gives a RATS ASS?

Glad you recovered. The ER at Good Sam is a zoo. Mybdaughter worked there for several year before moving to another hospital.

This brings up an another interesting point. Besides the numbers being gamed and the gov't lying, and the obvious undercount in cases in Feb and March - at least -

What of the numbers for YOUR situation.

Every POS conspiracy lunatic is claiming that you were asymptomatic. Meaning you had covid-19 as an anti-body test, but you showed no symptoms since you did not test positive in a antigen test. So every truther is out there without a mask claiming it only mysteriously kills people above 81 and nothing else (though the news now says 45, go figure).
The logic is, all the antibody people didn't show any symptoms. So you, and a score of people out there are misdiagnosed in the public twice!

I hate these protestors. This riles me up to go on twitter and facebook and fight with people, but I'm flooded with videos of people being murdered in the streets the moment I pull up the page. So where is my outlet?

Glad you are doing better. I also had Covid19, from mid-March until late April. I tested positive for the antibodies on May 7. After that it took an extra week or two to fully get all my energy back.

uhh, when we were kids and got poison ivy or something, mom would put calomine lotion on it and we dealt with it.

seems kind of extravagant to go see some type of medical personnel for a little poison ivy or sumac.

For the record the allergic response to poison ivy (etc) varies by age. A senior contracting it will, in general, will be more symptomatic and the rash will last longer in a senior than a younger person.

But I did have a fever of 102.+ and the chest X-rays showed the beginnings of pneumonia.
It was caught in its earliest stages.
As a 77 year old I consider myself of hitting the Lottery.

Given that you were really sick, good that it was covid-19. You do have to make sure that you fully recover first, but after that you'll be pretty safe from getting it again.

I think the death rate in that age bracket is "only" 15%.

The way the RW conspiracy angle goes is this:

You had a covid-19 test, you came out negative. Meaning the percentage infected ratio is lower, a good metric in my GOP state to rationalize "reopening" what wasn't even closed. Here, even though we have about 200-300% more cases per day than we did before reopening, this is "good news" because there's more testing per day (even though they have to ship hospital paitents 90 miles away since room ran out).
Don't worry, they'll get reelected. The GOP is so angry they're going after the republican governor who dared to do a safe at home order and signed a contract tracing contract with apple/google. This is sacriledge for the party.

But the more important aspect and rationalization. 1000 people are positive in the tests, these are those with symptoms most likely.
10,000 people show antibodies. They, therefore, did not know they had covid-19 and are asymptomatic. Or you have a 10% chance of showing symptoms, which is now obviously wrong.

There is no room for your situation in peoples minds, even though you are living proof that the talking points are flat out wrong!

BH we have all good outcomes this far on the board.

You seem to exhibit excessive fear of this virus. So far, the seasonal flu has killed more people, but nobody calls for "contact tracing" for that.

Contact tracing is police-state stuff. The people who institute it want it to be widespread.
