I am sure he is aware and I am sure some guards support him.Remember, Floyd would not get in the police car because he told them he has claustrophobia. This is why they put him on the floor and would have got him for resisting arrest. But the thing that many cops are thinking is how to handle people with cameras. How to be more assertive to make people scatter. In recent years cops have tried to charge onlookers with "interfering with an arrest" or "wiretapping" or "disorderly conduct" when they don't scatter. |

Being unemployed as well as being cooped up. Unemployment means you have the time and anger to protest, are more likely to be violently angry too, and more likely to consider stealing stuff. |

It's like a volcano or earthquake. Pressure builds for years, then explodes.Let's not conflate peaceful protest with looting. The southern states were also not as cooped up as the northern states because of the warmer weather and also less concentration of virus. Also notice the protesters are a lot more a diverse crowd that we had in the late 1960's even though black, male unemployment is now 50%. |
