78-Cent Gas in Minnesota

Jim Maurice
April 9, 2020
Gas prices keep dropping.

There are a couple of gas stations down in Lake City that are selling a gallon of regular unleaded for 78 cents Thursday morning.

Several more stations in the Red Wing and Lakeville areas are in the 94-cent to 98-cent a gallon range.

Here in the St. Cloud metro area the cheapest gas, according to the website GasBuddy.com, is $1.25 at a Stop N Go in St. Cloud, there's a Cenex in St. Cloud at $1.40. Several places in Sauk Rapids are at $1.47.

A barrel of oil is trading at $25, which is up from a low of around $20.

Gasoline tax rates are fixed; they don't go up or down with gas prices, #37.

$2.09 in the Pittsburgh suburbs. But there's no demand. Roads are virtually empty in these parts. Even if crude oil prices spike big time, there is way too much inventory. Its my guess that gas prices at the pump haven't hit bottom yet.

That sounds like what the price of gas is SUPPOSED to be at 25 a barrel pre-Obama. With all the regulatory costs, 1.46 to 1.65 is WAY too expensive.

Highest gas taxes in the country. I hope the roads are finally like Ontario, Canada.
Down where I am they do little tweets to the roads constatly to improve the flow. I hope all those issues that are 50 years old are finally fixed up there.

Spent some time in Red Wing, Lake City, etc. Beautiful country, very Scandinavian. Lots of socialist history too.
Last thread on here that ever talked of these cities, Smaz called them all right-wingers. It's an interesting scale with socialists are too conservative for you.
