The USNS Comfort does not treat Covid-19 patients |
|
Posted by AlM on Thu Apr 2 20:29:05 2020 Per US Navy Press releaseThe catch is that other hospital admissions are way down, so NYC hospitals don't really have many people to offload onto the Comfort. |

The other hospital admissions were cancelled to save space & PPE for Coronavirus patients. Perhaps with this some of the cancelled work (such as cancer surgeries) can be returned to the schedule. |

I believe the Javits was originally supposed to be for Covid-19 patients. That's been changed to non-Covid patients. The feds don't appear to want to have their medics in proximity to the virus. |

That's been the plan from since it was announced from what I remember. As you know hospitals don't have as many admits because all elective stuff has ended, but there will always be people that have emergency needs unrelated to covid. |

Javits was originally planned for non-COVID patients, and now it's been shifted to COVID-19 use. Check your favorite news source. |
