Feel the Bern

Posted by Train Dude on Sat Feb 22 17:57:55 2020

Bernie, with a 55% to 18% lead over Sleepy Joe Biden in the Nevada caucuses has been projected the winner. If things keep up this way, the democrat candidate for president will not even be a democrat. Geez what a bunch of fuck-ups.

If the Democrats ultimately nominate Bernie Sanders they deserve the ass kicking that will result. My only hope is that a redux of Nixon/McGovern and losing seats in Senate and possibly the majority in the House will lead the Democrats to expel the Communists from the party and carefully review their national platform. That being said, the Democrats have never actually shown the capacity for honest self-reflection.

I would not go by bumper stickers and yard signs because Republicans are not really posting anything because they don't have a Primary going on. Not to mention, most voters do not put out overt signage. Sanders's base appears to speak loudly, but that seems to be calculated to hide their lack of numbers.

This is the new trend in politics. Hijack a nomination. People like Bloomberg did it on a local level and Christ kind of played middle ground in Florida when he had to.

Trump did it at the national level to the GOP and now someone will do it to the Democrats.

Trump purged half the Republican establishment (the record number of retiring Reps) and the rest realigned.

Bernie Sanders and the Justice Democrats (bankrolled by donation-rich AOC) will force the same changes on the Dem side via primary challenges to establishment incumbents.

The $5 million from Bloomberg to her Anti-Voter Suppression fund (forgot what it's called) probably had something to do with it.

Gillebrand isn't Dem establishment / has already realigned, she will be fine. Pelosi would be toast. Schiff proved useful so I can see them keeping him around.

Schumer will have to realign or be primaried by AOC, and she will win that primary challenge, because she will get out the vote for an NY primary while "default Dems" who might prefer him will stay home because they don't follow politics and don't vote in primaries.

"noodle armed". nice.

anarchy in the american streets is nothing new. for example, thousands of people used to be killed in labor strife, every year. streetcars and freight trains were derailed, factories were bombed, snipers were everywhere.
