Me niether, And I have been voting since I was 18. Even if I was a student, and having several different jobs. Where there's a will, there's a way.

That first year they did it, New Years Eve 1984 into 1985, Me and my friend wound up at a house party up in Fleetwood, New York. Because we took the train into Manhattan and then we took Metro-North and got thrown off the train and there was some other metalheads in the train parking lot and they started talking with us and we told them we were from Brooklyn and they decided just to invited to the party. And then we got fucked because we had to wait until the early morning train going back to Manhattan.

Since I first year I voted 1971, I only missed one year whether it was Presidential or not and that was ten years ago when I was in the hospital with 6 broken ribs, a broken collarbone, and a puctured lung from a horseback riding accident. (the horse was uninjured) That's 47 out of 48 years.

Yep.

I have managed to vote in person almost all of the 100 times (estimating 2x per year plus a few specials) or so that I have voted.

But in 2019 I was very much out of town on Election Day and I appreciated the added flexibility even though it turned out I used an ordinary absentee ballot.

That's nice (not the part about your accident!), but why is everyone else in this thread posting about their personal experiences? How is that relevant? Is everyone exactly like you?

Maybe I should do the same thing you people are doing. I've never had a problem voting in person so I should also support in person voting on election day alone.

They haven’t done that for decades, except for the 2000 Florida mistake (Time zone issue).

The point is that if voting is important enough, you'll manage to go on election day.

JayZee brought up MTA in relation to election days, and I brought up CTA in relation to election days.

Well actually I go for the PTA bake sale at the school I vote at (coincidentally my old elementary school). I wait all year for the cupcakes. Voting is secondary as long as I'm in the building.

I don’t agree with that logic. You’re treating voting as a privilege, not a right.

Eh, it's OTChat.

I agree 100% that just because I have never needed early voting doesn't mean that early voting is not a good idea.

I’ve used early voting once and as the early voting site is far away, it is unlikely I’ll do it again. But in 2022 when they implement absentee voting* without excuse, I might do that.

*Unless the Republicans retake the State Senate in 2020.
