I Like Pete Buttigieg
Posted by Mitch45 on Fri Feb 7 07:42:29 2020 Just saying. If I had to vote for a Democrat, I think he’d be the one. Of the remaining major players, I think he has the most rational views. He’s not a fat lefty like Sanders or a buffoon like Biden. He’s a military veteran and just seems like a capable man. And I don’t care that he’s gay.

The problem for the Democrats is that it is a serious uphill battle and they have issues with primary voters not backing the eventual candidate if the voter’s first choice is not the nominee.

Biden and Sanders are leading the polls. I understand the theory that Sanders has a cap on his support because he is so radical. But I wouldn't count Biden out yet. He's polling better than Sanders and a lot better than anyone else. And relatively few Democrats really wouldn't go for Biden in the end, if he's the leader.

Republicans will try to pin the blame of everything negative that happened during the Obama administration on Joe Biden. Not to mention that the impeachment is more of a liability to Biden than any other Democrat because voters will be asking what qualifications did Hunter Biden have other than being Joe Biden's son and Joe Biden was VP.

Israel is one issue that is important to me, but it is not the be all and end all. In the Primaries it is hard to tell for sure how a President will govern since the electorate in the Primaries tend to be more extreme than the electorate in the General. Actions speak louder than words, and I know from the actions of Sanders and Warren that they will definitely be bad for our allies in fighting against Islamic terror.

Blacks tend to be more socially conservative than other Democrats. The Republicans could easily play that to pull blacks from the Democrats. Of course, this would only strengthen the socially-conservative wing of the Republican Party, and the social conservatism is what I hate the most about the Republicans. It is by far where I am the most left-wing.
