Do they still have dog racing in Florida?. Still plenty of $$$ is made in horse racing. The big money is in the breeding. Stud fees (by winners) are still thru the roof. When the money stops, horseracing will stop.

It's called euthanasia or humanely ending a horse's suffering. The injuries are almost always broken bones. Jockeys and exercise have a much bigger rate of the same type of injuries.

Also, unfortunately the technology doesn't exist to fix a broken bone in a horse's leg. So unfortunately a broken leg for a horse is a lifetime of suffering.

Actually it's pretty much the same as a human. It's just a human can keep a cast on for weeks. A horse will break the cast off in hours, even minutes. So there's no way to set the leg.

I still remember that day 44 years ago like it was yesterday in what was billed the battle of the sexes. (the same year as Billy Jean King vs Bobby riggs)

A guy named Allan "Rocky" Lane was the voice of Ed. Never got any screen credit for that part. I hope at least he was given a big feed bag (as in big pay) for his work.
