Cognitive decline?

Posted by AlM on Sun Oct 20 18:56:18 2019

If you're the President of the United States and you don't know the name of the Secretary of Defense, are you still competent?

It's not quite like forgetting who the Secretary of Agriculture is, after all.

This is the first time in 25 years (I’m 37) that I don’t know the name of the Secretary of Defense. It’s just impossible to keep track of The Cabinet of President Caligari.

I personally think that the Republicans are going to wait until after the next Inauguration. Then, Trump will be a lame duck anyway and the Republicans will tell the Democrats that they are on board for impeachment proceedings. So the never trumper's and deep state and people who are sick of Trump's Antics, get rid of him, Pence stays in power for at least the next 4 years.

You speak of "Cognitive decline"? Reagan got a pass with that during the last years of his administration. Trump is nowhere near the cognitive decline that Reagan suffered from back then.
He was often overheard saying to Nancy, "Gee, I forget things" Face it, she was the real president back then.
Precedent is there. We survived Reagan's 2nd term. Just an example that the president dosen't have to be sharp as a tack for the country to survive.
We are bad president proof thanks to checks & balances.

But the system sure is being tested.

Nancy Reagan was far better at running the country than Donald Trump is.

.I voted for the man, twice. However, Its no secret that he was in the early stages of Alzheimers in the last years of his presidency. Nothing fake about that. That fact was conceded by many on both sides of the aisle as well as many in the media. Its also no secret that he wasn't the same after he was shot. Nothing fake about that either. As far as falling for "fake news" about Reagan's mental deterioration, I had plenty of company.
