Kmart may be able to survive as an online retailer of cheaper clothing and other items. But it's doubtful. Sears just let itself fall apart. Kmart did absolutely nothing to improve it's stores after the Sears-K-Mart merger. Clueless.

Despite being one of the profitable ones, they chopped off the top floor of the store (used to be 3, now it's 2 floors). I can imagine that one closing pretty soon, despite its longevity.

I never had actual servicing done there, but I did buy a few tires over the years. The one in the mall in the city where I lived for the first 14 years I was in South Florida recently had it's west end removed (which included the auto center) so a movie multiplex could be built there (surprised that mall wasn't built with a movieplex, but whatever. For 5 years I lived almost within walking distance of this mall, so of course they install the movie theatre after I moved away. Said theatre (this is about where the Auto Center was) And what's left of the Sears: That roadway in front of the Sears used to be a mini bus hub for Broward County Transit, they are now on the north side of the Sears

While I made fun that the aging furniture in each, and the slow service must be a simulation of a gov't car repair garage, they're the only people that never tried to screw me once, and actually gave me deals over the centuries. I have such a bad taste for all these folks, that I've contemplated going 75 miles for an oil change. I'll probably just overpay at a place down the street that lied to me once before instead.

I'm not really interested in quick lubes anymore. It's been years since a guy appeared out of thin air with a fake fluid sample telling me something went bad. I have tried Wal-Mart recently. But like everyone who goes with spider-pigs computer/app technology, no one seemed to figure out their own computer/payment terms and conditions. It wasn't the same as Sears though, I have the impression your NOT supposed to, like, do any shopping while you wait.

Good for putting furniture together and putting up hurricane shutters.)

Seemed to run & run for years and years without any problems. Had a pair when my kids were growing up and beat the hell out of those things with dirty kids clothes & always got it done. Lost them when my basement flooded. And Craftsman tools were the gold standard of quality tools. They ran an ad several years back that said that the only way you'd have to replace a Craftman tool is if you lost it. But that was then...

It was the first time I ever had a brake job done on all four wheels Correctly in my entire lief!
