No way they'll win the bid, but it would be kinda cool. In South Florida there would be the BBC Arena and the BB&T Center (in Sunrise, home of the Florida Panthers)

Here is a so-so pic I took of the BB&T from a parking lot at Sawgrass Mills Mall which is across the street.

I'm not going to express outrage or even much anger over this. In their pursuit of the almighty buck, all kinds of public and private entities whore themselves out by selling naming rights to organizations with which they have no particular connection except their desire for money.

BangBros is, AFAIK, a legal business. If the Miami Heat are pimping out their reputation, it seems appropriate that BBC should buy.

Sure; they should just do it all for free, right?

They shouldn't name them after politicians either.

I thought BB&T was North Carolina.

No matter. I think it's becoming "Truist" or some BS now. These names and logos corporations come up with take years and 10's of millions of dollars to come up with. Truist.

I miss stadiums with real names.

Yeah, they merged with SunTrust. I hadn't heard about the Truist name, sounds weak. So I guess it will be the Truist Center now. I guess the same for the Braves stadium (currently SunTrust Park).

Back to the current BB&T Center, that building has been around for 21 years and has had more names:

National Car Rental Center (1998-2002)
Office Depot Center (2002-2005)
BankAtlantic Center (2005-2012)
BB&T Center (2012-??)

BB&T acquired BankAtlantic in the fall of 2012, so in that case it wasn't the naming rights expiring, but the actual bank.

Of course, that pales next to the local football stadium:

Joe Robbie Stadium
Pro Player Park
Pro Player Stadium
Dolphins Stadium
Dolphin Stadium
Land Shark Stadium
Sun Life Stadium
Hard Rock Stadium

South Flori-DUH for you.

PornHub is apparently swimming in loot and is desperately trying to branch out into the real world. They are getting into fine art (https://observer.com/2019/09/pornhub-art-exhibition-maccarone-gallery/) and have tried to sponsor a number of English soccer clubs as well. They even have a charity called PornHub Cares.

Naturally, everyone is shocked, SHOCKED, that PornHub would dare try to do some good with its money. Of course, everyone is disgusted by PornHub and would never visit a website like that.

PornHub streamed 91,980,225,000 movies in 2016, or 12.3 movies for every man, woman and child on Earth. So somebody must be watching.

I don't know if these are two different companies or whatnot, but PornHub is a website where you can watch it for free, and the Bang Bros is a content producing congolmerate I believe (which means pay site or not, it's still free on the former).

So, I still don't know where anyone is getting all this money from, and I have a hard time imaging the owners as astute businessman who didn't get rich from lucking out over a simple domain name.
