If we could assume sovereignty there it would be a very good thing. Denmark showed it was unable to defend itself in WWII, no less Greenland. In essence the U.S. was the guarantor of Greenland's safety in that conflict.As a Jew who is aware of some history, it's a shame that someone non-Jewish has to call out Jews to grow a spine. And he was talking about Jewish internal loyalty, not to the U.S. And, as an aside, I've personally known not a few Jews who are functionally anti-Semitic themselves. And finally, "the chosen one" thing (relevant to China) was sarcasm. People are so anxious to dump on Trump, they'll believe any characterization of the MSM without every doing a little research. |

But buying Greenland?As for Denmark in World War II, most of Europe was caught unprepared for the Nazi onslaught. Even England barely survived and probably would not have without Roosevelt and Lend-Lease. You really can't compare World War II to today, since the nature of warfare has changed so much - occupation of large swaths of land for security purposes is not as important as it used to be. And the US was also the guarantor of Canada's safety too. Perhaps we should buy that as well? As for Jews growing a spine, Jews have always been their own worst enemy, going back to Biblical times. Trump can't change that. |

However, Trump's approach was so heavy handed that he made it far less likely that any such thing would happen in our lifetimes.The right way would have been to quietly approach the Danish Government: any chance we could buy Greenland? Then they wouldn't have had to publicly tell Trump to fuck off but could have tried to negotiate a deal if they were interested. |
