"Thank you".

Posted by LuchAAA on Tue Aug 13 13:12:10 2019

Dennis Prager said "Thank you" to someone.person said "No problem".

Prager wants to know why "You're welcome" is dying.

That's probably the most intelligent thought Prager has had in a decade.

You probably think Krugman is intelligent.

Prager is one of the most important thinkers of our time.

I just saw a video on this. Evidently it’s a generational thing. Millennials say no problem and think that thank you sounds overly formal and old fashioned.

Millennials can't spell you're. Its your to them. That's why I think they are saying no problem.

Even I'm getting jaded on millennials.

The other day, a thirtysomething told my (fiftysomething) editor at one of the platforms I write for, that she couldn't make deadline "because it interfered with her self-care time". She said this without the slightest hint of irony.

The kicker? Mr. Editor bought it, and reassigned the piece!

Sauve qui peut!

Is she paid by the piece? If so, he may not be assigning her as much work in the future.

Doesn't she know about grandparents' funerals? One can have four over the course of employment at a company. (I once did hear someone repeat a comment that a particular fellow employee was running out of grandparents.)

If you're young enough, you should start with great grandparents to avoid "wasting" a grandparent. You have 8 of those and at least some of them might be alive.

That's the tip of the iceberg for errors like that. Another one is "to" and "too".

Grandparents? That's Boomer stuff. We had a millennial ask for time to mourn his cat.

The William Brinkley novel was better. His exquisite command of the English language makes the book a worthy read for the prose alone.

I'm so pleased he chose to name his fictional destroyer after me. LOL!

+1

At Chik-Fil-A, they say "my pleasure", which I don't have a big problem with because I know that is company policy.
