I bet you wouldn't go camping with someone who fires off hundreds of bullets while on an outing but NOT for target practice.You can use a gun to shoot at animals, to shoot at people, and to shoot at targets. Guns obviously aren't exactly analolgous to cars.Owning a car, riding in a car, and driving a car are three distinct things. Owning a gun, having a gun in your possession, and firing a gun are also three distinct things, but there are not really close analogies to the way you own and use cars. You may spend 16 hours a day with a gun in your possession and probably don't ever use it; that doesn't happen with a car. |

The comparisons are between being allowed to operate a car and being allowed to operate a gun. One may be allowed to own a car but not be allowed to operate it. No such status exists for guns. |

The AK-47 is the most successful semi-automatic rifle ever made, for a reason. Ferguson fired a total of 28 rounds, IINM. An AK-47 can be equipped to fire more than that. |
