I've had a Sirius since almost the beginning. One of my go-to channels plays mainly 80's stuff. I sort of remember it from being really young, but my coming of age music is later than the 80's. Yet most of the 90's+ songs I used to listen to I can't stand now.
That's evidence that you're correct.

I'm a Gen Xer, just slightly onlder than you, and while I agree, 80s music is good....I think 90s (non dance) music is way better. I love metal, but also grunge and alternative. Probly because my 20s was spent in the 90s. The kind for example, Litium on Sirius/XM plays. That says, I can't listen to 90s on 9.
We all seem to love our "20s music".
