I see the individual, not the race. My ONLY problem with his protest, was because the protest was against "police brutality", and the cases showcased were police using neccessary force.

I think he's referring to police brutality in general such as those that don't make headlines. He's saying that there's a systemic problem that's unchecked, and I agree with him. I think those opposed feel so strongly in this case because Kaepernick has a platform with widespread reach. He's rocking the boat, and that's the problem.

This is true, but this is not always the case, and that's a big part of the problem. I can admit that many factor into problems with the police, but it takes two to tango, and the police aren't always as innocent as the claim.

I could tell you from my own personal experience, that in my 30ish years of directly dealing with police of all ranks and agencies, I don't know one that would actually go out to brutalize someone for no reason or to set them up for no reason or to shoot them for no reason. Now I understand it might be different in other parts of the country, but here in New York City I've never experienced that.

OK, but growing up in NYC... I've seen it, and I once barely escaped such (by quickly going inside our apt building) as a teen when all we were doing is sitting around on a summer day as inner-city kids in NYC do. Again, I'm not saying that all cops go out looking for trouble, but some of them are dirty, and they've been getting away with it. That's what Kaepernick is protesting about.
