Internet defeats Australian court

Various news media in the US are reporting that a prominent Australian has been convicted of sexual offenses, but they can't say who because a judge in Victoria has issued a gag order, and their reporters in Australia are at risk of a 5 year sentence for contempt of court.

But all you have to do is Google prominent Australian convicted to find out who.

The judge had to know full well that a gag order like that is meaningless in 2018.

It's possibly not meaningless in the State of Victoria. Many of the results we see on the internet might not display there. Not sure.
