Stomach virus

An effective way to lose weight but I don't recommend it. Since Monday's lunch all I've eaten is 2 pieces of plain bread; four small protein shakes; Powerade; and three teaspoons of Life cereal with milk. I've lost 8 pounds, most of which is water loss from the fire hose shooting out of my rear end!

The amazing (sad?) thing is I'm still not hungry in the least.

It's soothing. Good for the biome, which gets out of whack when you catch those bugs.

I had one a year ago. Didn't lose weight, though. Never upchucked as much in my life as that.

Sounds like classic food poisioning. You didn't mention if you ran a fever. When I get slammed like that, Ginger Ale seems to work for me as a tummy setteller. Small sips to fend off dehydration.
Years ago, old fashioned Coke syrup worked wonders too. But to get that nowadays would be a challenge
Bottom line, feel better. All storms pass & this shall pass too!

Thanks, Jim. No fever. My doctor's office told me today when I made my appointment that there's an intestinal virus making the rounds in Ft. Worth.

Bingbong's suggestion to drink peppermint tea was helpful!

I've been down that road. Your stomach has essentially shut down production during the pendency of the virus. The weight loss is always welcome but it just shows how much water weight we actually carry around.

I love chocolate covered matzoh...only one place I could find it out of season...Ave Z and Coney Island Ave in BK. Not sure if the store is there anymore nor sure if they do the same thing with the matzoh anymore.

It's "going around", they say. My good friend got it Monday night. He lost weight, could not eat..Finally yesterday, some small food portions, and a doctor ordered tests , relative to his abdomen.

I eat it as much as I can! I used to get it straight from the bakery on Broadway and Keap Street from the Satmar bakery. And around the block on South 4th Street, they had the black and white cookie factory. I'm sure those old-time businesses are long gone and replaced with some hipster nonsense.

My favorite snack was a low-salt Matza with Land'o'Lakes white American, nuked for 30 seconds. But now those carbs give me acid reflux. I don't eat starch 3 hours before bed anymore.

Works as a substitute for or an addition to Toast, which is the "T" in the BRAT diet.
