Continuing the tangent - in Japan the signs also have a "health bar" next to the person standing/person walking instead of a numeric countdown. In addition to saving space, it also allows for showing long you have to wait before the light will change in your favor. While wandering around touristing "time to green" indicator helps you figure out if you really want to wait to cross $main_road or instead continue along it and cross $side_road. |
