The science we can also use again all the walk, don't walk signs. Unfortunately they became a victim of political correctness.

There are still walk/don't walk signs. But they are in pictures - easier for everyone to understand.

He wants the stupid signs that say “Walk” and “Don’t Walk” in words instead of symbols.

Symbols are far superior.

Besides, didn't the signs say "Dont Walk," thus also teaching poor spelling?

Yes, and until they do, their lives should not be put at risk when crossing a street.

Road signs, like "STOP" at least have some color and shape conformity. We know from context what "Arret" means in Quebec.

That's nice. Traffic symbols used to be semaphores that said stop and go. Then we went to colored lights because symbols and colors are faster to grasp. Same with the iconic pedestrian symbols, faster to grasp by pedestrians.

If the pedestrians are too stupid not tonrealize what the walk/don't walk signs say, then they should be removed from the population!

I remember that from National Geographic in the 70s about Quebec wanting to leave Canada.

Remember this: The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

And more visually distinctive.

Related matter: why is it that in the rest of the world the don’t walk sign is a standing person, while in the US it’s a hand? I think that the hand is better as it’s less ambiguous. Also, why is our walk sign white while in the rest of the world it’s green? White privilege!

If you can serve the needs of the few without significant cost to the many, it is usually a worthwhile activity. There wasn't any massive program to eliminate "Dont Walk" signs - it's been a phase-out over many years as signs were being replaced anyway.

Not necessarily. Red in China is a color of luck and celebration. Closer to its party time than a warning to be cautious.
