What is truly amazing is that musicians could play music on such a TERRIBLE HORN. The sound of the Bb sax [tenor] is not good at all.

If good music could be made on a "terrible horn" (the saxophone is a woodwind, not a horn), then how can it be terrible???

I'm OK with the sound of the tenor sax. Even the soprano sax is OK. Not my fault if you can't play it. It ain't the hammer; it's the carpenter.

I agree. Good music can be made on anything, from a kazoo to a glockenspheil (SP) ."Terrible" music is just stuff you don't like, but that don't mean its not good.

Poor Coltrane must have had a "terrible" time playing the solo on the "terrible" tenor sax on Miles Davis' So What, I guess. (Amazing how something so "terrible" can sound that amazing, though, eh? Time for goosebumps if you play this.)
