Am I missing something?

Posted by AlM on Sat Jun 16 16:03:55 2018

Yearbook quote.

Make the lie big, keep it simple, keep saying it and eventually they will believe it. (generally attributed to Hitler or Goebbels)

“We are appalled and angered that this quote was submitted, and I ask you to please accept my deepest apologies on behalf of our faculty, staff, and administration for the insertion of these words in the yearbook,” the principal, Philip Conrad, wrote in the letter. “Quoting a racist dictator bent on genocide or his minister of propaganda has no place in our school or our community and it is deeply upsetting to all of us.”

Huh? To me, this isn't an complimentary quote. It's noting the similarity between then and now. But no one seems to consider that possibility.

Huh?

Um, lo@lm!

Using someone's quote is almost always complimentary. And as has been demonstrated here, we live in a society where people live to be offended.
