Real ID is a federal mandate that requires several minimum standards be met to be defined as "Real ID" in the eyes of the federal government. Several states have yet to be in compliance with the federal mandate. John in the sand box of Maryland's eastern shore.

I needed to bring my real Social Security card, my real birth certificate, and two utility bills with my name on it but they only used one. You might have a problem because your real name is on your birth certificate and you will have to prove that you are going by a fake name nowadays married women run into the same problem, they have to bring their marriage certificate

My wife and my sister-in-law had to bring their marriage certificates to show the transition from their maiden name to their married name. Since I'm a responsible, well-put-together adult, I had all my stuff with me with no problem.

When I tried to use a printout of a pdf of a bill one time, the MVC didn't accept it. Luckily, I still get paper paystubs, but at a job I had a few years ago, those were purely electronic if you had direct deposit like a normal person.
