At least this time it looks real, after 3 straight fizzles in NYC.

The forecast high temperature Wednesday in Central Park has been slowly dropping. Now it's 32. In contrast, for the last storm that fizzled they were forecasting many inches of snow and a temperature of 36. It all melted as soon as it hit the ground.

Not NYC. This time further east is way better off. Last few times it was reversed.

Yes, it's actually The Weather Channel that names the storms, but they are owned by BOMBcast.

i really believe NYC likes to exaggerate snow forecasts because people in NY overreact and watch more news. 1010WINS and NY1 love this.

I agree the news media like to overpredict.

But in the last 3 storms it was the National Weather Service itself that overpredicted NYC snow.

Well, they predicted nothing around here last night...after going from a foot to 3-5 inches, to a foot to nothing to 3-5 inches to nothing. I'm quite happy. Hope you all have the necessary survival stuff and a secondary heat/cooking source.

I have to say after watching and listening to most of the meteorologists on TV & radio News 12 Long Island definitely has been most accurate to the results. You have to have Optimum and not Fios to get it.
