All those years of riding the J train at night when I lived in Woodhaven, those eye contract confrontations I witnessed started with a "WTF are you lookin at??" Response " Nuthin Mutha Fucka" Then went to a shouting match, then either got quiet and one of them got off at the next station. Rarely went to blows or kinfe/gun play. Just two macho fools shootin their mouths off, usually with their girlfrends. Once in awhile the cops showed up. Usually around Norwood Ave. Any combatants still there were usually dragged off the train by thick hands around the throat.On that line that time of the night in the early 80s, the conductors often locked themselves in their cabs. |
