Trump isn't a liar because he doesn't lie; Trump simply has no concept of truth and falsity. This isn't something that he picked up in his old age, it was the case back in 1983. |

The Dunning-Kruger effect (which I had to Google) does not explain "The Access Hollywood tape is a fake - I never said those things" and numerous other flat out denials of events observed by Trump himself. |

He thinks of himself like a prophet and that people will believe whatever he says. So it is the Dunning-Kruger Effect in that he thinks his inherent veracity is better than it really is. |

Posted by AlM on Sat Dec 16 23:50:02 2017, in response to Forbidden Words at the CDC, posted by Fred G on Fri Dec 15 22:21:59 2017. The Times confirmed some details of the report with several officials, although a few suggested that the proposal was not so much a ban on words but recommendations to avoid some language to ease the path toward budget approval by Republicans. So it's not that the words are forbidden. It's that they set off knee-jerk reactions among the troglodytes who have to approve the budget, so if you use them you probably won't get your budget approved. |

Oh, and HHS must refer to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), only as "Obamacare". |

I'm not sure that "The Trump Administration forbids you to use these words" is that much worse than "Trump Administration officials are more likely to reject your budget request if you use these words."Mandatory censorship versus essential voluntary censorship. "You're fired" vs. "Your budget request is disapproved, you no longer have funding, and so your job has been discontinued." |

Are you saying that it’s correct and accurate? I mean someone may have told the Washington Post that, but hell, they can find someone to say practically anything. Was the information that’s relayed in the article correct?“Policy analysts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention were told by the Trump administration on Thursday that they are not allowed to use the words like "science-based," "evidence-based" and "transgender," in their budget documents, according to a CDC analyst who spoke to The Washington Post.“ |

I think that it’s much more interesting that so many Americans accept everything that they’re told at face value. This story may very well be true, but it sounds ridiculous. When I read something that sounds ridiculous I expect a little more supporting evidence. The fact that Trump says and does ridiculous things every day doesn’t make this necessarily true. |
