On the allegations: Franken said some of the allegations against him are "simply not true" and that others he remembers differently. The big line -- timing of his resignation: "Today I am announcing that in the coming weeks I will be resigning as a member of the United States Senate." He also said: "I am proud that in my time in the Senate I have used my power to be a champion for women." http://bit.ly/2jqlyGJ This was a bold line: "There is some irony in the fact that I am leaving while a man who has bragged on tape about his history of sexual assault sits in the Oval Office." http://bit.ly/2BTyegE On his future: "I may be resigning my seat but I am not giving up my voice." How many women have accused moore? Nine, most were underage when it happened. The Democratic Party is taking this seriously, to the point of weeding out people who really should have been able to weather and survive ethics inquiries and the likely resulting censures. Harrassment and assault of underage girls is CRIMINAL. Both moore and trump have been involved in incidents involving underage girls, moore with now publicaly known multiple individuals. Where are moore's and trump's resignations?

" Moore hasn't been elected yet so he can't resign and Dolt45 won't resign over "fake news". Just remember - Al Frankin had the strength of character to at least admit that he did wrong. Moore and Dolt45 have denied that they did anything.

They are giving up a pawn (Franken) in the hope of looking pure as the driven snow so they can do exactly what you're calling for. This secure in the knowledge that a Democrat governor will appoint another Democrat to Franken's seat.

We all know that Fraken would cruise to relection barring all of this and even with, as his scheduled reelection is 2020. There will now be a special election in 2018 and a non-Franken candidate could turn it into an open seatelection. MN is somewhat swingstateish. So it may not be the wisest thing long term. So where's moore's and trump's resignations?
