Another typical NY Democrat charged with a hate-crime

A Yonkers man was charged with a hate crime this weekend on allegations that he attacked an 84-year-old Jewish man in a Bronx assisted living facility.

Alen Califano, 41, was charged with robbery, assault as a hate crime, burglary, and weapons and marijuana counts, police said.

Sources said the suspect entered “The New Jewish Home” assisted living facility, at University Avenue and West 192nd Street in the Fordham Heights section of the Bronx on Saturday.

The 41-year-old allegedly asked a security guard to use the bathroom in the home, but immediately started entering different apartments and destroying property. He eventually ran up to the fourth floor, and entered an 84-year-old Jewish man’s apartment, according to police.

Police told the Daily News Califano ordered the victim to give him his money.

When the victim refused, Califano allegedly said ‘I will kill you, you (expletive removed) Jew.’

The suspect has an extensive record dating back to 1992, sources said.

That's NOT a "hate crime" unless he went there and robbed the guy solely because he was Jewish. If a black guy did the same thing to a white guy and said "I will kill you you fucking devil cracker!" Do you think that the black I will be charged with a hate crime? Nope!

Califano was charged with robbery, burglary, a hate crime, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana, police told WNBC TV.

I read the article twice and (unsuprisingly) no where did I see the punk's political affiliation. Maybe you can pkint out in the article where it's stated.

Let me explain OBS logic.

Poor people are disproportionately Democrats.

Criminals are usually poor.

Therefore all criminals are Democrats.

Yup I know OBS' logic. Sad part is he isn't the only one with his logic. Was curious if he choose to reply would his explanation ignorant to him as it would most rationale ppl.

I'm not so sure of that. I know they always try their best to make things not a hate crime, but the whole yelling of slurs seems to be the tipping point in a lot of these articles.

Like I said, if he robbed and assaulted the man because he was Jewish, that's one thing. But if he just yelled a slur in the commission of the crime, that's another.

Isn't that the evidence they use for "hate crime"?

I can only go by what the journolist tell me. Maybe it starts making more sense like what you are saying when it goes to a judge.
