Oh? Trump won by under 100,000 votes in a very liited economically depressed region of the country. What happend is a noisy minority of mostly older white men's votes were amplified by depressed turnout from the center and left.

There are no trends that came out of this. There is ZERO pro-trump consensus. There is no mandate. There is little support for anything trump is doing, and growing sentiment against all of it.

So you ask someone to see their legal name change/birth cert to determine what to call them, and that's okay.
But if you do so for a bahtroom and dressing room in a store, that's an issue.

Moore, who has no charges, and no nothing but is actually is being called on to be blocked from taking his seat.

You came up with a thousand excuses why Menendez should be allowed to keep the seat and finish his term.

And then confirm that Democrats are held to a looser standard, a la Ole Bill's standard.

Thank you for confirmation.

It would be an upset if Jones won. This is Alabama. But with Moore’s already weak standing and the latest allegations, it wouldn’t be a huge upset.

The idea is that possibly quite a few disgusted Republicans just stay home. Best we can hope for, I guess.

To some, perhaps. Fact remains, they can ill afford (from their POV) to lose that seat, as it withers their already tenuous hold on the Senate.

Question is, what is the value of fact these days? To those guys?

IMO, it would be better for America as it would put the brakes on all the bad judicial appointments being railroaded through lately.

Now, the GOP could try to get Jeff Sessions to resign as Attorney General. Then the sitting governor of Alabama, Kay Ivey, can immediately return him to his old Senate seat, forestalling Moore.

This would also be good for Trump, as he could then appoint a new AG, who might not recuse himself from the Russia case, as Sessions did. Trump can then fire Mueller, and stop the entire investigation.

Several pundits, including Rachel Maddow, have been exploring possible variations on this sequence of events.

He doesn't have to be a dem from how the dem's are acting. I never even new the guy had funding, he wins without a single advertisement. And with McConnell going on, he'll probably win by 50 points just as an F-U to the establishment.

Some people are still very butthurt that Big Luther lost. They don't care if Jones is the winner, as long as Moore never gets in.

Moore looks a lot like Trump in the way the GOP hates him, at all cost. I remember when the GOP seemed to be almost endorsing Hilarity.
