Aunt Jemima recall

Posted by TransitChuckG on Mon May 8 12:56:51 2017

Recall

My AJ Cinnamon French Toast Frozen, 12.5 oz. UPC 19600 05890 was recalled. I'm taking it back for a refund.

That's a relief. I thought they were recalling Aunt Jemima herself. She was a real character, originally played by Nancy Green, formerly enslaved.

She played the Aunt Jemima character for a third of a century until her death.

Though the name Jemima may forever by associated with pancakes, it is a Biblical name, meaning "dove" in Hebrew.

DailyMail published a study claiming that names liek that, or Moses, are traditional Black names.
So the MSM would disagree with you.

On topic, I still wonder in this age of automation and machines, why are there so many recalls going on? Are they sloppy due to automation? I see this all the time in companies and customer service, maybe its the same culture in food.

They may be now, in this culture. Associations change. "Bruce" and "Percy" were considered "soft" names, like Ernie Kovacs character "Percy Dovetonsils") (no kidding), but Bruce is directly from "Brute" and the Percies in Britain were a war-like clan who were said to have the charming habit of waiting to see which way a battle was turning out then coming in on the stronger side to help secure the victory and get some of the spoils.

How did those names transform from their warlike origins? I would guess sarcasm, like calling a tall person "shorty."

But the term was "traditional", meaning historically. And of course the athetist journolists are what they are.

Sounds like that's derived from German Vogel, the term for any bird. (The V, the German letter vau, is pronounced like F.)

Its also the name of the little girl in the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang novel by Ian Fleming, and the 1968 movie.

My bad. "Fagel" is bird, not dove. "Toyb" is dove. My mother was called "Taybl" by her mother, meaning little dove.

I have HBO, but I never watched even a minute of the show. Seriously, do you expect one's only knowledge of a TV show would be by watching it?

Girls is one of those shows that only 10 people watched and most of them are TV critics or bloggers. As opposed to shows like NCIS which are watched by millions and ignored by the televiterati.

Never heard of it, don't have HBO.

It gets easier to know shows that are out if they are very popular, and the pay service doesn't pump out too many shows to count per year.

2016 had the record for most Television shows ever made. 190

Can YOU name all 190 television shows of 2016, Mr. Pig?

I see this in the stores, and I think it's a generic off-brand to this day.
