"Trump declines to attend White House correspondents' dinner"

Good. Who wants a cockroach at an expensive picnic.

And now Darell Issa of all people wants a Special Prosecutor, not So-Called Attorney General Sessions, to investigate Russian connections.

Darrell Jesus won his last election by only 1%. With Trump, the Republicans are dead in California. He needs to show his remaining supporters that he's not 100% on the Trump train.

But Darrell and a lot of Californians are very hard right and Trump has 80-90% approval from the Republicans. Look at the Caltrain electrification. They are like rabid animals and with that issue and they are getting their way right now.

Yes, please! What is most amusing is that, in his absence, there will be less of a perceived need for restraint. Given that these performances end up going viral, he really should reconsider, or he'll have to live with whatever happens. Not sure he's smart enough to get that.

Meh, if he gets torn a new one en abstensia, he'll tweet out some insults to the parties involved and will then be like "see, I was smart for not attending".

In his absence, since he's playing the childish game "I am going to take my ball and go home", the attendees will be that much more apt to rip him to shreds. Then he'll be up all night Tweeting his head off with insults.

But if they let it all out and rip him to shreds (beyond satire) it plays into the press bias narrative.

He won't be. Sure, he may try to do that, yet signs are showing that's getting less and less effective. I see his tweets being mocked more often than respected lately. Memes getting old. A compellingly done piece will more than likely stick. Better to be there than lose control of the narrative....it's only been a month yunno.

Press would be merely reporting on what happened.

I'm telling you that, if somebody finds out about Trump's Russian dealings, other shady business dealings, or sordid past, the media is gonna be all over him like a pack of hungry hyenas! With his, "I don't give a shit what I've done in the past!", attitude, I believe it's only a matter of time!

The New York Times runs at least one Trump-Russia story a week.

That's what the NY Times will use as an angle for now. Like Obama is a "secret Muslim" worked for some, Trump as a secret czar works for others.

Yes I do. Krugman's piece was my favorite. I'm surprised you did not thread about it.

Anyway, today is Sunday. Can you believe how fast the weekend went?

Time to meal plan for the week. Lent complicates things.

Oh, I thought you were talking about the news articles. Krugman writes opinion. His economics is solid but when he writes about politics he's too paranoid for my taste.

Yawn, "Russian dealings". As if they wouldn't have found out already if they were there to find. Obama's own Russian dealings are easier to find—because they're there.
