Best estimates I heard are 720,000 for inauguration and 500,000 for Saturday. But the interior department no longer takes these counts. All anyone can do is aerial photos, use formulas, and WMATA turnstile counts.

Because the electoral college is (not deliberately, it’s over 200 years old) rigged in favor of people who put party before country.

How do you figure that? It’s just a euphemism. Like “pro-life” is a euphemism for “anti-legal-abortion” and “pro-choice” for “pro-legal-abortion.”

If that were the case, the partisan Democrats would always win too, as they always put party first.

No. As I’ve stated a hundred times already, if Donald Trump ran as a Democrat (with appropriately different views expressed on the campaign) and Ted Cruz ran as a Republican, I’d vote for Cruz and I’d volunteer for his campaign.

I choose Cruz for this example because he was one of the more orthodox Republicans in this election cycle. It works for literally any one of the other candidates in 2016.

I was a left wing Sanderista and if Trump was somehow the (D) I'd have voted for Cruz, especially towards the end. Cruz would have also gotten many of the votes that ended up in Johnson's column. The only thing Cruz had going against him that fit with Trump's "campaign style" were:
1. Canadian! (*yawn* not the birther thing again)
2. New York Values comment! (I would have looked past that seeing how the final months of Trump's campaign unfolded).
3. His face makes you want to punch it! (I'll admit I would have had to abstain from watching any televised debates to see past that).

However they would have also played up his Tea Party obstructionism which would have kept a not-small contigent of Democrats from crossing the aisle.

That said it would have been 100% impossible for Trump to win the Democratic primary this cycle.

Trump isn't going after "birth control" or "Abortion".

Not right now. He just became president. But he has promised that he will.

- He has promised to support massive restrictions on the ability of low income women in red states to get abortions.

- He has promised to remove the obligation of medical insurance companies to pay for birth control as part of their basic coverage.

Of course, if you take the attitude that all Trump promises are lies, then your statement is correct.

Ouch. That would have been a difficult one.

However, the proof that the Democrats are more responsible than the Republicans is that Gold Standard Cruz had a chance to win the Republican nomination whereas Al Sharpton would never ever have won the Democratic nomination.
