I think it's a damn shame that given the significance of the date (75th anniv) and how many veterans were there, Obama didn't have the respect to pay proper tribute to these veterans. Then again, I guess we should blame Tiger Woods as well. If he were playing golf in Hawaii, Obama might have shown up.n

I wonder what kind of tribute FDR paid to those who died at Fort Sumter 75 years earlier in 1936?

Pearl Harbor is a more important event for me than for just about anyone else who posts here*, but I'm not bothered that the president doesn't make a special tribute every year.

* If it hadn't been for Pearl Harbor I wouldn't be here now.

So you are not bothered. I guess that settles it then. Because as we all know, you speak for the rest of the citizens of the United States. I think that the 75th anniversary is significant. I think that so many of the survivors being there is significant. Considering how the president took that victory lap with the deserter beau Bergdhal and family, I don't think that it would be beyond reasonable to expect that the alleged commander in chief might say a few words to some true hero's even if only by way of a video.

I gave my opinion. It's your reading comprehension failure that leads you to think I said anything more.

People didn't use patriotic anniversaries as a cudgel back then.
