You are paranoid. When I used a clock-radio, I used the buzzer, not the radio. When the clock radio broke in 2008, I went to Walmart and only found dedicated alarm clocks (no radio), so that's what I used until 2012-13. I also have not owned a radio since. I currently use my iPhone and Apple Watch. If something important happens overnight, I can read the CNN alert on the lock screen. The Newark bus crash was not important enough to show up as a CNN alert. As a comparison, the Hoboken crash today was. |

Many people (most?) don't watch the news in the morning, or listen to the news, or read a newspaper. So?Again, I don't think you are wrong that Millennials are not informed on voting decisions. But not knowing about some bus crash (or some other headline) is not a good example. |

In terms of death count, Newark's was worse, but now obviously 100 injured and a structural station collapse and outage.Buzzer is too startling to wake up to. CNN won't tell you most local news. I also have a battery transistor radio. Sandy had my power out for 5 days. Don't count on driving anywhere, because gas stations could not pump gas. Forget about recharging your phone. 9v battery lasts longer than what a Smartphone has, especially since you use yours for everything. |
