It should be. Giving the nuclear codes to an unstable, politically and militarily inexperienced person like Trump is not a good idea. He is not the kind of person that accepts guidance, just look at his mess of a campaign. If a candidate cannot run an efficient, effective campaign how can they expect to be able to run an eficient effective government?

It's up to each and every one of us to ensure that doesn't happen.

An argument I used to have is that why do people want incompetent outsiders to run their government, they wouldn't want an incompetent surgeon who's a "medical outsider" to perform heart surgery. But then I realized how many people are anti-vaxxers and into new age medicine and claim that doctors are in the pocket of "big pharma" or some other bullshit and it all starts to make sense. Too many people are antiïntellectual idiots who think that "regular people" are more qualified to decide anything without any useful knowledge than someone with all that fancy "book learnin'."

A problem is that sometimes "knowledgeable professionals" fall prey to medical fads or use drugs for their convenience rather than the patient's best interest.

For example, the routine use of Ritalin in children to make them more tractable for the therapist even when not medically necessary.

And politically saying "incompetent outsiders" is begging the question. An outsider is not by definition incompetent nor is an insider guaranteed to look after the broad public interest.

You don't accept the premise that Clinton is less bad than Trump.

I didn't say that. What I don't accept is the necessity of voting for someone because they're "less bad."

As for Johnson or Stein, I would vote for one of them even if they couldn't win, if I really thought either would be a good President. But I don't.

What? The people who need them should take them. The people who don't need them shouldn't be given them. What's the problem? Too much of trouble to figure out which is which?

You're implying that the failure of the medical establishment to prevent over-prescription of certain drugs implies that trusting alternative medicine more than standard medicine is a reasonable approach.

I neither said nor meant any such thing. I'm saying that the medical establishment allows things to go on that shouldn't. As a separate issue, failures like that probably help feed the quacks.

I mentioned what was good about Hillary and you and SLRT disagreed. So there you have it. You don't want to hear that Hillary has good qualities and you don't want to hear that she's less bad than Trump.

So that means you'd just as soon have Trump as your next president. There are no other choices.
