There are a ton of things you can't do without a photo ID. You need it to pick up packages left at the post office. You need it to get on a plane. You need it use a drive through bank.Some places require them to buy age restricted items no matter how old you are. I take my 87 year old grandfather to a ball game and he wants a beer, they will card him. You place an order to be picked up in store with my company, you need id or I can't release it to you. Are you telling me there are THAT many people who don't have some form of ID it would have a visible effect on voting? That does not seem physically possible. The idea they are impossible to get is baloney and there is no reason not to have one. The ability to prove your identity is the greatest tool you have in protecting your good name and your financial security. |

New York State does not require any form of ID to vote. You just show up and sign your name in a book that also shows the last time you signed. If the signatures match, you are good to go. There are no documented instances of ID-based voter fraud in NY. |
