Don't go thinking you're some sort of progressive feminist because you have issue with this. Everyone should, though it's incredibly superficial. Cultural issues such as forced or arranged marriage are far more important, since that is the first issue that regards the equality of women. When a woman makes the call as to who her sexual partner is, it demonstrates her choices and desires are valid to her culture. How, when and with whom she starts a family is her fundamental human right. Take away any choice in this matter and its misogyny.

The sheer brutality that Radical Islamics show people (all people) in general is just horrific. Where else do you see people being thrown off of buildings, stoned, burned alive, or the whole list of how they treat women.
Yeah, I know, you will ATTEMPT to compare it by saying women can't be ordained. I mean really.

Yeah, and how is Islam working for women in that regard. Oh wait, they are too busy getting beaten, forced to stay in the house unless a male relative goes with her, and forced to wear a torture outfit which only allows her eyes to show.

And it's not just the extremists either. Even if they have the scarfs that show their face, less "extreme" perhaps, but I remember a seemingly normal "American" Muslim talking about a house he bought, but they had to enclose the kitchen with doors to close (as opposed to open), as "if visitors came, they couldn't see his wife cooking in the kitchen". I mean really.

What I'm sqying is that is a matter of scale. Yes, I agree its wrong, but there are much more important fundamental aspects of human rights at play here that are being ignored, focusing on the superficial.

No, its a fact and anyone that doesn't understand and make that distinction shouldn't be saying squat.

Nor does it make it "okay". It isn't. But without the basic understanding of what its origins are will not make changing it possible. All saying and treating it as its origin is Islam does it retrench the hate. Taken in the true context of culture allows it to change, to end, as its adherents find the space to free themselves of it, without the burden of compromising what they personally deeply believe.

As it stands today there's plenty in the Christian, western world that do not believe in equality for women, just look at some in this very country. Maybe we ought to clean up our own acts before condmning others. Give them an example to learn from.

LOALM!

No. I support abortion to lower crime. But it has it's drawbacks. It might increase crime because low income women have an abortion first, then eventually give life to kids. These women have emotional scars and end up being terrible mothers who are violent towards their kids and raise kids who have all kinds of issues.

This theory was proposed to me by a white female uber-liberal college professor who herself had an abortion in the 80's. She's an emotional mess.

So thanks for attacking Olog.

You would probably be better off paying lower income at risk women to take more permanent and long term birth control to bypass some of the emotional issues that can sometimes come with an abortion.

But the feminists love abortions. Some think it's awesome to get pregnant and have an abortion as a women's rights issue. It was a badge of honor.

Sometimes I'm in NY and see these women from the projects with their kids in public. Often these women yell at their kids in public and violently pull them. So I can only imagine what home life is like. It seems they save the most violent outburst for the boys, and it's no wonder there is so much dysfunction in the poor communities. The boys are being raised by crazy single moms who produce kids bound to repeat the cycle.

Your post went over my head.

The better and less awkward solution to low income single mother births is to try to increase the use of long-term birth control. The benefit is that the women are less likely to forget to take their daily pill, and the women are less likely to succumb to their desire to get pregnant to keep a man*. It's slowly becoming "the solution" to various policy wonks with many expecting the end game that these women will delay pregnancy and become members of the middle class. Hell, the whole desire to secure free birth control under Obamacare was built with the understanding that more of these low income women would have access to long-term birth control.

Often these women yell at their kids in public and violently pull them

Some would argue that the mothers see the world around them, and they double down on such parenting techniques in order to keep their kids out of trouble. A few have argued that such behaviour isn't needed if the fathers were living with their children. FWIW, in my drunker moments, I'm tempted to argue that the appearance of traits from the father of the child may harbour some traumatic feelings in the women, and they may act out based on it.

*or the inverse case where a man seeks to do the same to a woman.

You should be very angry at your teachers for making you doublethink.

I'm a product of twelve years of Catholic schooling at the primary and secondary level. Try harder next time. :-)

Do you know which was the first country in the 20th Century to come out with abortion on demand? Lenin's USSR.

The Soviets built a large metro system in their capital and electrified their railways. So metro systems and railway electrification is wrong?

did the women who had an abortion go on to become parents?

I'd say overall, these women are fucked up to begin with and an abortion can only worsen, not better things for her.

As for crime, well, NYC/

Some were parents already, some were not at the time, and went on to have more children. Others did not have children. All three groups had some degree of sadness about their decision.

Women are wicked, so I sometimes wonder how sad they are when they act and say they're sad.

One Russian women I know had abortions in her country. She tried to kill herself but jumping into Flushing Meadows Lake. Now she's fat and alone in the world.

I know the liberal college professor in Tampa. She's approaching 50, lives with her 24 year-old son and parents. A vegan who feeds stray animals.

A white trash female from my Queens neighborhood. A cum dump since she was a teenager.

My guess is that some upscale women have an abortion and get back on the cock carousel and resume with their careers.
