In Pembroke Pines, Fl. Arby's has apologized and issued the usual corporate denials but has yet to fire either employee.

I read the officer was also worried the meal would be tampered with. The manager was not as hostile as the employee. I would have purchased it and dropped off at the lab after going through the proper channels. It could be anybody who gets tainted food from unscrupulous staff. The difference this time, they would have done it to the wrong person. Enjoy the "municipal bracelets" and "lodging" surrounded by cement and steel.

That might be legally true because police officers are not a prtoected class under nondiscrimination laws. Just like you can refuse to serve someone with a broken nose or a tatoo. But of course it's a totally moronic business policy.

The manager made that comment which the CEO says is not true. Therefore, I believe that the manager has committed a teminatable offense. He and the clerk both need to be fired, very publicly.

Arby's can make up their own minds what they want to do. But anything that suggests that the worker and manager did something OK would be extremely poor for Arby's business goals.

Local 10 coverage

I lived in Pembroke Pines for many years when I first arrived in South Florida (I now live further north in Broward County). For 5 years, I lived no more than a mile away from the Arby's in question, which is actually on the grounds of a somewhat large regional mall. As such, I have eaten there many times, though not recently since I no longer live nearby. My take is, if this was a joke as the Arby's employees are claiming, it was a very stupid one, and some disciplinary action should be taken (if not firings, definitely suspensions). Why would anyone want to antagonize an police officer after what has been going on lately. SMH

Finally, and some may not like this, but Sgt. Martin seems kinda hot :)

Absolutely!!!!!!! You can refuse a person service if they are loud, boisterous, cause a disturbance or use profane language, but you cannot refuse a public servant not only observing the law but protecting it and the people he serves. Both those two bozos should be canned forthwith and their names spread out over the Internet. Human trash like that deserves nothing but a harsh eye.
