TV Land is not owned by the government.
It's a business decision.

I would think Progressives would be proud of their new ability to hound things out of existence almost instantly by the threat of massive public scorn.

Instead you piously say "it's a commercial decision."

One of your number opined a while back that restaurants in the '50s South didn't serve blacks at the front door because of lurking violence.

No violence needed. If a shopkeeper served people the local populace didn't want to hobnob with (which included not only blacks, but known Jews and even White Trash if it was a "posh" place) the majority population simply wouldn't shop there. Didn't even need a formal boycott.

It was a commercial decision.

I believe in free markets.

If Coke wants to discontinue Coca-Cola Vanilla Zero because it's not selling well, it's irrelevant that some people who actually like that stuff will be disappointed.
It's a commercial decision.

OTOH, If Coke wants to ban black people from buying Coca-Cola Vanilla Zero, it's an act of Un-American illegal discrimination that should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

You keep pointing out how much more effective boycotts were at that time and place than they are now. So you should be happy that boycotts are less effective now, even though you might be wishing they were still less effective.

Also, you aren't distinguishing between two kinds of comemrcial decisions.

Is NBC pulling a TV show because they believe it will be less popular, given recent events? That is jsut common sense.

Or are they pulling the show because they think their other shows will suffer otherwise? That would be responding to a boycott.

I think it's only the former. Do you have evidence it's the latter?
