Man-free Supermarket?

Posted by LuchAAA on Thu Apr 16 07:04:31 2015

fiogf49gjkf0d
So about once a week, maybe twice, I go to an upscale supermarket near the beach. They have a great hot and salad bar.

Due to problems with the homeless, there is always a cop on duty. He/she usually sits in a patrol car outside.

Last year, one followed me around the supermarket, and around the hot bar. Then he stood by the cash register while I paid. Then I went to the parking lot and drove off and noticed the cop standing outside watching me drive off.

Another time, I was at the same supermarket and got into a conversation with a couple from Queens. A different cop stood about 10 feet from us, arms folded, hung around a few minutes, then walked away.

This year I started going back to the same supermarket. On Saturday, it was the same thing with the cop. Followed me to salad bar, looked me over, went to cash register and left when I did.

So now I'm wondering what's up?

I don't look homeless.

Are they just profiling all men? Does the supermarket not want men who might be pick-up artists?

Be interesting to see how many times this keeps happening. I find it amusing. Convinced they want to drive off the single male clientele.

your use of "you're" could earn you a reprimand by Spider-Pig.

So, it's near the beach and I was wearing a pricey bathing suit and tank top from Swim City and baseball cap.

It's an upscale supermarket. I'd say only 10% single male clientele. 70% female. 20% couples.

How should someone dress for shopping? Especially in a beach town?

I think a cop will follow me no matter what.

so the cops are on PUA patrol ? :)

I am keeping my receipts with the time stamps. I'm pretty sure the supermarket management is unaware of this. Pretty sure county officials would not be happy that resources are wasted there when I'll bet they have to go to Walmart every day for accidents and shop lifting calls.

So I figure if the cops only follow me at the store and don't pull me over for some bullshit when I leave, I won't complain. If it was me personally, they would find a reason to pull me over. Since it's only at the supermarket, it seems to be an issue with single men shopping there.

I think you have a valid complaint for management to hear. Seriously.

They need to hear that "Who wants to shop at a place where you get stalked by cops?" part.

my guess is that if I do complain, then the cops are going to pull me over when I drive out of the parking lot.

I know I black guy who went there with his wife. He works at another location, but stopped by to eat on way to beach and say hello to co-workers.

So two cops come in and told him that he looks like a robbery suspect. They brought in a lady who was robbed and she said it wasn't him.

I'm keeping the receipts for the time stamps but for now just getting a laugh out of it.

Dave from the Metroplex, let it go. You keep it up he is going to post a picture of himself wearing a bathing suit and tank top in said grocery store, something he has already threatened to do, which is an image none of us need to see, not now not ever. Look it, I suppose LuchAAA is a good and decent and upstanding white man but he stands only 5'6" tall, that according to my dear friend Andee, and weighs somewhere north of a buck ninety. Just let it go.

I believe him. It's similar to the "security" guard they used (have?) at the Trader Joes in Rego Park on Metropolitan. The guy would follow you around the store.
But Queens is a different animal all together.....Trader Joes usually give free coffee you can sample, and it's self serve, but they couldn't do that in the Queens store, as people abused it.

I haven't been in the store in over a year, so don't know if they still have the security guard that follows you around the store, or if they have self serve free coffee again.

Let's not forget that the Home Depot behind it is the only Home Depot I have ever been too (or Loews) were you have to have have your receipt looked at to get out of the store..... The suburbann Home Depots don't do that. I have only seen that at stores like Sam's, BJ's, Costco, etc.

Dave from the Metroplex knows a lot about aviation. Did you hear about the United 737 that landed in heavy rain in Houston and went off the pavement into the mud? You support aviation but are afraid of going into clouds. I'll be working UA1047 tomorrow evening Newark to Portland, Oregon where it rains a lot but it is supposed to be a warm and sunny day over there on Saturday.

I asked the guy for details. He said two cops approached him and his wife, who is white, and they told him he fits a description of a suspect. I doubt it was armed robbery or far more cops would have responded. More like a purse snatching or something like that. The victim said he was not the guy.

But he told me to let him know if I do call headquarters. I probably won't if all they do is follow me to the salad bar, and cash register. Still I'm holding my receipts for the time stamps in case they do decide to bother me about something.

So, what do you think you need to do to lose weight?

So tonight, I went to a different supermarket. The one I go to more often.

I make a right down the bulk bins aisle and see a pretty lady in her 30's and look at her because she's attractive. Walking behind her is a man and he's giving me a look. So I said to myself, "No more looking at women during this supermarket trip".

So I go over the the potato bins(I eat one pound a day), and the guy passes me and looks at me. He's clearly gay and thinks I made eye contact with him in a pick up way, not realizing I thought he was with the woman he was walking behind, and I thought he caught me looking at her.

He passed me again by the coffee bar and realized I wasn't like that.
