I was gonna post this 2 days ago, but I wasn't in the mood to deal with the Subtards that will come out of the woodwork, somehow second guessing what had to be done and the usual cries of racism, police abuse, blah blah blah that come with it. As per usual, the Media has been already running with it, almost exclusively refering to the dead perp as a "homeless man" shot to death by police, as opposed to the more correct Criminal shot dead after he grabs an officer's gun. Like the police know everyone's domicile status beforehand, not that it makes an IOTA of a difference. BTW, nice commentary the whole time by one of God's Clowns the whole time.... The video will definately help the police out for sure.

The scuttlebutt is sometimes right, sometimes not.

We still haven't seen the evidence of Officer Wilson's broken eye socket. And we also haven't heard details on the criminal activity that Akai Gurley was supposedly engaged in in that stairwell.

So we'll see.

I think what scares cops most is people resisting arrest. This forces cops to wrestle/subdue someone and at that point they can stick you with something, etc........

Yea resisting arrest isn't smart bc at that point whatever is done by the officer to take the person down is legally excusable whether it is in proportion or not all benefit of the doubt goes out the window.
I read that story today that female correction officer as very fortunate. It begs the question how she was in that situation outnumbered like that to begin with. Are they not adaquately staffed at Riker's or a security breakdown.

Cops shoot French bank robber in LA; wanted for parole violation

Homeless man killed by LAPD identified as 'stubborn' French bank robber wanted for probation violation

By Nancy Dillon, Doyle Murphy
Tuesday, March 3, 2015, 8:04 PM
A homeless man shot dead by Los Angeles cops was a French crook wanted on a probation violation and a convicted robber who once knocked off s bank to finance his Hollywood dreams, police sources confirmed.

Charley Saturmin Robinet, 39, and a couple of armed accomplices were wearing masks and carrying guns in 2000 when they stormed a Wells Fargo and ordered customers to the floor, authorities said at the time.

The violent stickup man pistol-whipped a teller and was caught with more than $33,000 in cash when cops busted him after a wild car chase.

The French national told investigators after his arrest he was desperate for money to pay for acting classes at the Beverly Hills Playhouse, the Los Angeles Times wrote in 2000.

His lawyer from the case told the Daily News he remembers Robinet stubbornly refused to plead guilty even though his co-conspirators both cut deals and cops had an airtight case.

"The trial was ridiculous, there was so much evidence," attorney Steve Cron told the News. "I kept banging my head against the wall, trying to make him realize he wasn’t going to win and that he'd wind up with a much harsher sentence."

Not only did prosecutors have Robinet's taped confession, but a news photographer had snapped pics of him sprinting down the highway, leaking cash after cops used a spike strip to pop the tires on the getaway car.

“He was stubborn — stubborn in that he wouldn’t take my advice," Cron said. "But maybe I was stubborn in that I didn’t see it his way. He was a guy who was very stone-faced.”

Robinet was found guilty and served 15 years in federal prison. He was released in May 2014, just eight months before his fatal clash with Los Angeles police.

Witnesses on Sunday recorded cell phone video of Robinet tangling with officers. The unarmed Skid Row tent dweller wrestled with numerous officers, before one seemed to shout, “I lost my gun! He’s got my gun!”

Officers opened fire, killing Robinet in front of a crowd of angry spectators.

Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck told reporters on Monday footage from officers’ body cams offers a “unique perspective” on the incident. He promised to release the recordings once the investigation is complete.

Robinet was wanted at the time of his death on an arrest warrant. The ex-con apparently failed to submit a written report to his probation officer as of November 2014, and the warrant was issued on Jan. 9, 2015, U.S. Marshals Deputy Matthew Cordova told the News.

"This is a busy district, but the assigned deputy would have been actively looking for him," Cordova said.

Robinet almost certainly had no family or friends to turn to when he got out of prison, his former lawyer said.

“I have no doubt he had no safety net when he was released," Cron recalled. "I spend a lot of time with my clients to get to know them, and there was nobody there for him. I never spoke to anybody in his family or any friends,” Cron recalled.

The young robber kept everyone at arm's length, even his attorney, but he showed no signs of mental illness, Cron said.

"We didn’t have a relationship where he would confide in me,” the lawyer said. “But this was not a gentleman’s bank robbery. There were guns. They were rough. Someone easily could have gotten killed. So you have to assume if someone is doing that, they have a certain amount of disregard for law enforcement.”

Robinet was 24 at the time of the Wells Fargo heist.

He and his co-conspirators marched inside the Thousand Oaks branch, and Robinet ordered a worker to clean out the safe.

He soon grew impatient and smashed the teller in the face with a gun, opening a gash that required four stitches, the Los Angeles Daily News reported.

The robbers drove off as cops gave chase, grinding to a stop after plowing over a spike strip on the Ventura Freeway.

Robinet reportedly bailed out and was captured after a short foot chase.

He was carrying $33,500 in cash.

Robinet, who was identified as a French national, told investigators in a recorded interview he planned to use the money for his show biz aspirations.

Despite the confession, he insisted throughout the trial he'd made up the story and police had the wrong guy. He wanted the jury to believe his friends hit him over the head with a gun before the robbery and that he was unconscious until he jumped out of the car.

“He didn’t trust anybody, including me," Cron said. "He thought he was going to be able to pull this off."
