Did you hear about the guys up here running a criminal enterprise who got convicted for conspiracy to commit bribery, money laundering, and extortion? One was an official of the International Longshoremen's Association Local #1478, another was a former Newark police officer, and the third was some other guy. They demanded quote unquote Christmas tributes from the Port Authority dock workers at the Newark/Elizabeth Ship Terminal in return for better jobs, shifts, and wages. Their names were Nunzio LaGrasso, Rocco Ferrandino, and some other guy. It is hard to make this up and I'm not. Anybody get gunned down in greater Pinellas County yet this evening? The temperatures are dropping up here but the running gun battles in Newark continue unabated. |
