National media don't highlight such situations and local media will mention it for about 30 seconds. Is that black ppl's fault? Protest aren'tthe only way ppl are fighting in communities of color. Community initiatives such as the opening of community centers, after school programs, big brother/big sister having college students come into schools and speak to kids in communities of color etc etc while not as loud and biosterious as protest are done for the purpose of giving an alternative keeping children out of the streets aka doing something about black on black violence. Of course things like that needs money and of course the media isn't going to care bc as you know 'if it bleeds it leads' |
