Land Survey

Hey, Fred G, you knew it was going to come down to this. I am taking a Surveyor course at Passaic County Community College - Paterson Campus. This week, we are learning about the infrared reflector and next week we will be learning about cadastral boundary surveying and data/coordinate systems. I am going to be issued a certificate, suitable for framing, when the course ends in March and will then be scheduled for something called the Principles and Practice of Land Surveying (PS). Once I am licensed and registered as a Surveyor I intend to challenge you to a "Survey-Off" at a time and place of YOUR choosing so there will be no excuses when I kick your ass from here to Berlin and then back again. Thanks again for your many thoughtful contributions to this board over the years.

Regards,
cortelyounext, R.P.L.S.

Oh, it's on. With respect to land surveying, I am going to go old school on you, Copernicus, and put you in your place as just another pretender - I will even come over to Connecticut with my Passaic Community College - Paterson Campus certificate and embarrass you in front of family and friends if that's what you really want. Look, I am not going to take any great pleasure in defeating you but I am not going to lose any sleep over it or have any sympathy for you either.

To better illustrate my point, here is the 2014-15 Passaic Panthers. Said squad is 3-0 in Conference play although I am unsure which Conference. The average attendance is 0, and yes, the team has cheerleaders - I am not making that up.

The only objection I have to surveying as a pursuit is that it spoils the fun of trigonometry with the need to occasionally get very cold and wet.

Hey, Fred G, you dog hater, I got a A- on the weekly exam at Passaic County CC - Paterson Campus. The subject matter was "Error Mitigation - Bowditch and Principle of Least Squares Methodologies" and I would have aced it no problem but I was tired from moving people for United Van Lines from San Francisco to Atlanta to Newark that afternoon. It may be of interest to you that I am already working on my thesis which is tentatively titled "Geodetic Datum WGS 84 Compatibility with International Terrestrial Reference System (ITRS) Protocols” - I am going to kick your collective ass from here to eternity and back in our Surveying Arts competition and I intend to do it in front of a capacity crowd of our quote unquote peers understand that. As far as all you so called peers, Fred G and I will be providing hot and cold refreshments as well as those Venezuelas, or whatever those s-ccer horns are called, for you to blow/show your support. Time and place of the fight beatdown one-sided competition call it what you will still to be determined. The Venezuelas will need to be returned at the end since I already put a 10% deposit on a box of those things from Party City off Route 17S in Paramus, New Jersey, and thanks again.

In keeping with the tenets of Land Surveying, this one sided competition will be filmed using triangulation through cameras utilizing Bayer filter mosaic protocols in combination with optical anti-aliasing filters. A demosaicing algorithm will be used by the cameras to interpolate information to create a full array of RGB image data in order to preclude your pathetic attempts at rationalizing away your loss which is a foregone or bygone conclusion whichever one of those things means inevitable. Furthermore, I am going to retain objective counsel, possibly the Progressive Democrat italianstallion, to be the sole arbiter so you cannot claim victory on some technicality, faulty reasoning, loophole, or some other ridiculous excuse which is, after all, your calling card in these type matters. Although the refreshments and Venezuelas will be distributed to the expected near capacity crowd of Sub/Bus/OTChatters wearing their pocket protectors, cuffed dungarees, HP/Texas Instruments calculators hanging from the belt, horn rimmed glasses and other such bling, I intend to send all donated proceeds to a charity/non-profit of your choosing such as the Connecticut DOT. On a related note, not to create undue anxiety and stress on your part, I am rolling right along in my classes at Passaic County CC - Paterson Campus with nary which means not a care in the world. It is not even that challenging. I will post my diploma once I receive it and suggest you do the same. For reasons that escape me, there is actually going to be a formal graduation for this course which I will attend in absentia. Look it, Fred G, it is nothing personal and I admire you for your knowledge, measured responses, engaging manner, and thoughtful contributions to this board but your time has come.

Well, if you ever need help with the trigonometry (and I'm sure you don't), I'll be glad to help. Other than that I'd be pretty useless. I'm sure I'd never even be able to get the instruments sufficiently level.
