Those Americans should be damned glad they get free food at all. What ever happened to beggars can't be choosers? "Can I please have some free food? No not THAT swill, I want better!" In my country, they'd be expected to earn a living. We regard beggars and moochers with such contempt that it's actually a common insult to call someone a beggar, in much the same way an American might call someone an idiot or an ass. Then again, in my country they'd be allowed to earn a living— America does seem to have a problem in that regard. If they decide they want to earn a living free from a massive overbearing government that denies them the chance to work for a fair wage and then tells them to take handouts to get by, my country is always willing to take immigrants. |
