Firefox 1.0.7 on my designated internet laptop (only PC in my household with a connection to the internet; security through obscurity), Firefox 1.5, Seamonkey 1.0.1, IE 6, and a bunch of other browsers on my main workstation for web development (no internet connection, so no worries about security flaws :) ), and Netscape 4 on my old laptop.I also use links (way better than lynx) when I'm at a console (mainly when SSHing to my website). I use FF 1.0.7 on my internet laptop because some extensions don't work yet in 1.5... |

The menus and tabs display as scrunched Roman text. Being that its the only app to use Qt on my system, I have no clue how to change the theme. Is there anything like gtk-theme-swtich for Qt? Googled and all I get are references to themes themselves. |

Skins didn't help, it just changed the appearance of everything below the menu. Fonts is for the HTML renderer.I guess I'll just have to suffer for now. For some reason when I built Firefox from Ports (FreeBSD), it won't start. Just goes right back to the shell prompt. No error. Grrr... Even if I had KDE installed, it wouldn't help. Opera is QT, KDE only manages those which use the KDE QT libs. Thanks anyway. |

Maybe at the time I didn't yet have a spell checker for Firefox? Or maybe it was that Firefox was having issues remembering which threads I had already clicked on? But for some reason, it has been my tradition for the past couple years. I may change over soon though since I love the linkification extension. It negates the effect of all the people here who are too lazy to provide HTML links in their posts. |

At least Firefox doesn't suffer from the multitude of vulnernabilities that still currently plague IE.Firefox is by no means a perfect browser (plethora of memory leaks come to mind first), but it's still the best out there. For me, at least, tabbed browsing is a necessity. IE is also a nightmare to design for, because of its weird interpretations of web standards (*cough*nonstandardDHTML*cough*). But yes, the Mozilla foundation seriously needs to work on transitioning between versions. That's the reason I haven't upgraded to FF 1.5 yet. |
