Among other things, the two-party system has to go. Not that I'm sure how to go about getting rid of it.

The country would, ironically, be much more united if politics splits it into many groups rather than two. A one-on-one battle like we have now easily breaks up the nation, but multiple fragments allow people to more easily accept each other because they'd be able to find a whole more similarities across multiple parties. It would also make the elections less predictable in advance, making them more intriguing and increasing voter turnout.

It's already gone. The Rs and Ds act as one party. Is that what you want?

If you'll read the rest of my post, you'll see exactly what I want and why my idea prevents the whole two-party-becoming-one thing you're concerned about.
